Biography of LaTika Lee - 2008

In her current role as marketing director at Midlothian Electric Company (MEC), LaTika Lee is responsible for marketing communications & business development. In this role, Ms. Lee works to facilitate and support special events, public and community relations efforts. Prior to joining MEC, Ms. Lee served as Business Manager with the Chesterfield County Chamber of Commerce where she worked to serve, protect and promote the quality of life in Chesterfield County.

As an independent consultant, Ms. Lee has coordinated and managed numerous seminars, meetings, conferences and special events, including citywide and regional events like the Rainbow of Arts Crafts Festival and the Capital City Kwanzaa Festival.

0A From 2000 to 2003, Ms. Lee served as a Public Relations Specialist at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and previously, at Virginia's Department of Historic Resources. In addition, she has also worked behind the scenes in local television and in international radio broadcasting at the Voice of America in Washington, DC.

Active in organizations within and outside of media, Ms. Lee believes that service to humanity is the best work of life. She oversaw the successful launch of a new Junior Chamber of Commerce chapter and built it to reach hundreds of young professionals in metro Richmond.

Ms. Lee earned a bachelor's of science degree (cum laude) in mass communications from Norfolk State University and is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond (LMR). She and her husband, Quenton, have two children and live in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
